Simon moved to Bendigo in 1999 to study the Diploma of Remedial Massage. Whilst studying, he worked fulltime at a spa resort in Hepburn for 18 months, then a further 18 months part time  to focus on building his own practice in Bendigo. In September 2002 Simon and Tracy  set up Refresh Body Therapies. Then in 2006 they changed the business name to Refresh Day Spa and Remedial Clinic. Then in 2010 they moved from Wills Street to 90 Garsed Street, where he has been performing remedial massage and bowen therapy ever since.

Brodie studied beauty therapy in 2012 while working part time finishing her diploma top of her class with awards such as Best Customer Service Award. She worked at Spa Eleven for almost 2 years doing all things beauty.

"I love the day spa side of all beauty treatments," she says.

After a small break she began working at Endota Day Spa in Echuca, She was there for one year before deciding to come home to Bendigo, where she found Refresh and her love for skin and laser treatments.

Brodie loves coming to work each day for the one-on-one consultations with clients, getting to know them (and their families) and at the centre helping others. She loves helping clients with all things beauty and seeing results.  Facials and laser treatments are her favourite as she can help educate clients into having the best glowing skin I know they can achieve.

Since a young age beauty is what I have wanted to do. After trying different avenues, the Diploma in Beauty was the right path. 

I enjoy all aspects of beauty especially making someone feel special, relaxed and beautiful. 

In my spare time im usually at lawn Bowls, supporting the club or spending time with my mum and siblings.

Addika began working with people in 2012 after reaching a crossroads in her own life and a pending question of the meaning of life. Then after massaging her sister-in-law on Mothers Day and seeing her smile, glow and feel better, Addika said ‘I wanna do it’... enrolled in massage and continues to explore and educate about the nature of existence and our physical experience. Different frameworks and understandings come into the question when in a consultation, like: how can this person be helped and what are their experiences, why is there pain and how can we be free of it? She has a keen interest in posture & balance, clinical remedial, diet & fitness and energy & flow, using numerous techniques designed to work with, investigate and create changes that offer an opportunity for self growth and healing. She enjoys working with people from sudden onset pain to chronic long term to spiritual/mind/emotional aspects to a relaxing time out massage... for the overall health and well-being of someone.

I have been running Refresh with my husband for 16 years while raising my two daughters. The part of my job I love most is seeing regular clients that are in for preventing problems and for maintaining a healthy, functional lifestyle. They get tension due to work or life/sport/hobbies/family and know that a regular treatment will alleviate tension preventing further injury and pain.

After all the years massaging I still love it. I passionately believe in its benefits. I love that it works not only on a physical level to manage pain, reduce tension, enhance performance and flexibility but also works on a mental and emotional level to relieve stress, anxiety and depression while aiding sleep and our ability to cope with the stresses of life.

She enjoys tanning, manicures and pedicures and loves all aspects of beauty. Monique is keen learner with interest in progressing to more specialised facial treatments, IPL and SHR.

Simon moved to Australia in 2014 after working previously in his native England, in Yorkshire and in London. He qualified as a massage therapist in the UK in 1999 and obtained a diploma in reflexology in the UK in 2000. To make sure his qualifications were up-to-date and up to Australian standards, Simon passed his Cert IV in Therapeutic Massage at TAFE NSW in 2016 and obtained his Diploma in Remedial Massage in 2017.

He began his massage career after receiving massage treatments himself when suffering severe back pain in the mid-1990s, and decided he’d like to give others the same beneficial results he felt from receiving massage for his lower back. He hasn’t looked back ever since.

"Even after nearly 20 years massaging, I still get excited seeing improvements in clients’ ability to get on with their lives, and the job never gets boring as every individual always brings in something new, with a life story or injury that differs from others I have seen before"

In his spare time, Simon sings in a choral society in Melbourne, he volunteers at a soccer club in Ballarat, and he writes a blog about historical buildings around Victoria.

Emily completed her studies in 2017, graduating with a Certificate of Excellence in Clinical Practice. She enjoys providing individualised treatments to her clients and loves seeing people experience the benefits of massage, both physical and emotional.

In 2015, Emily started her Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic), the skills she is building her degrees complement her remedial massage consulations. She will be qualified at the end of the year. 

Emily has a passion for educating her clients and helping them move towards better function and health outcomes. She enjoys watching people become empowered to improve their health and wellbeing.

Outside of work Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her two dogs, getting down to the beach as often as she can and reading up on all things health and wellness!

Lara has been working at Refresh since 2017. She completed her diploma at East West College in Caulfield South back in 2008 and 2009. She worked self-employed for a while, then moved to the surroundings of Bendigo and gained more experience in various clinics she practiced at.

Lara is passionate about natural remedies and helping people improve their wellbeing. Beside providing remedial treatments, she takes the time to educate her clients how to improve their health and wellbeing while better understanding their body and taking care of it. Outside work she likes to spend time outdoors, gardening, admiring wildlife, bush walking and much more...
